Once you have collected your Car Hire you will first take the road LP-132 and then join the LP-138 towards Santa Cruz de La Palma, which passes through a tunnel under the runway. Santa Cruz de La Palma is situated just 8 km away from the Airport.

The island of La Palma is also known as La Isla Bonita – the beautiful island and is located 108 km from the northwest African coast. There is much to see while driving your Car Hire around La Palma, mountains and volcanoes, beaches and forests, a tropical rainforest, tiny villages and breathtaking views. All this is to be found in just a small area, unspoilt by tourism and ideal for rest, peace and quiet. In the centre of La Palma lays the largest known crater: La Cadera de Taburiente which is a National Park with a circumference of 28 km.

The capital of La Palma is Santa Cruz which lies on the east coast of the island on the slope of a mountain and on the edge of a volcanic crater called La Cadereta. This situation gives the city’s form the impression of an amphitheatre.

Santa Cruz de La Palma has a museum of Natural History with magnificent zoological examples and traces of the original population as well as a large library.

Along the coastal avenue you will see both modern buildings and large old houses with huge, wooden balconies which are typical of the La Palma.
